Seeing as I’ve been MIA for four months, I thought I’d give you a little snap shot of what you missed while I was away.
Over the summer, my brain was constantly ticking over how this would make a great story, or that would be a lovely captured moment on the blog. But as much as I love blogging, it was nice to just ‘be’ this summer, enjoy the time and focuss on Little. Especially as it have might been the last full summer we have together for a while now I’m starting work. We definitely made the most it!
The summer started with me on a girls’ week away in Greece. My first week without Little Miss. While I missed her and the OH, safe to say I had a blast.
After much deliberation, we braved kids’ club at our local cinema and took Little Miss to the movies for the first time. She woke up as the trailers ended and sat completely still, utterly entranced from start to finish. We were shocked, amazed and overjoyed as we’d been wanting to see Inside Out for ages! Nina and I also took Little Miss to the theatre for the first time to see The Gruffalo live. She was equally in awe of the spectacle and very well behaved.
We had endless fun hanging out with Auntie Trini at the Serpentine Gallery.
Little Miss and I visited Grandpa in Italy for a long weekend. Little Miss was determined to master the “tep” [steps]. With stone floors throughout the house, it was a slightly less relaxing weekend than I’d hoped for, but by day three, she was a pro.
Little Miss and fountains were love at first sight. I had to keep her swim gear and a towel under the buggy at all times in case we happened upon any during our days out.
We joined my the OH’s family in the South of France for a week in August. Little Miss loved having her Auntie and Uncle around to play with and by the end of the week had even gotten used to the pool.
Peek-a-boo in the South of France. (One of my favourite photos of my two favourite people taken to date.)
The Other Half and I even found some time for ourselves with his parents taking Little Miss for the weekend in July while we attended a friend’s wedding and my mum taking her for a weekend in August so we could hang out just the two of us. It really gave us a chance to relax, reconnect and just be a couple for a few days. Exactly what we needed.
First day at nursery. (Notice trusty Mog was by her side.)
