The lonely carrot

IMG_4717.JPGI lay there lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o’er vales and hills,
Long and orange and chewed but proud,
Dropped by baby against my will,
Beside the oven, beneath the sink,
Forgotten and old in but a blink.
